UNIT LESSON OUTLINE
Function Transformations [8/31-9/1]
Graphing Transformations [9/22-25]
Absolute Value Equations [9/28-29]
/ PROPERTIES OF FUNCTIONS
01
This unit introduces properties of functions and makes connections between characteristics of equations and characteristics of graphs. Students will use these connections to sketch graphs and identify appropriate graphs given an equation or vice versa. Students will also be introduced to function notation when analyzing transformations from a parent function as well as writing equations/inequalities and sketching graphs to represent a real-world situation.
/ QUADRATIC FUNCTIONS
02
This unit builds on students knowledge of functions to explore quadratic functions and how they differ from linear functions.
They will use various methods to solve quadratic functions- including square roots, completing the square, and quadratic formula- and learn the difference between real, imaginary, and complex solutions.

UNIT LESSON OUTLINE
Quadratic & Cubic Graphs [10/30-31]
Graphs of Polynomials [11/7-8]
Polynomial Operations [11/9-13]
/ POLYNOMIALS
03
Continuing our study of types of functions, this unit uses students' previous study of quadratic functions to explore different types of more complex polynomials.
They will determine various properties of polynomials and use these properties to graph them. They will also describe real-world scenarios using polynomials and interpret features of a graph in a given context.
