/ QUANTITIES & MODELING
01
This unit introduces algebraic expressions and equations and how to use them to solve problems and find unknown values. Students will define the different parts of equations and inequalities and use key terms in verbal contexts to translate those words into mathematical models.
/ FUNCTIONS
02
This unit introduces writing algebraic equations in function notation and explores relations and functions as well as their properties. Students will identify dependent and independent variables, model contextual situations using functions, and express functions in various forms- including equations, tables, graphs, and mapping diagrams.

*Due to Hurricane Irma, Units 1 and 2 will be assessed together.*
UNIT LESSON OUTLINE
/ LINEAR FUNCTIONS
03
This unit builds on students' abilities to write and graph equations to investigate the properties and features of linear functions. Students will use equations and points to determine intercepts and slope, and interpret the meaning of these key features in a given real-world context. They will also manipulate linear equations into different forms and compare linear functions.
